My name is Simon Wuyts, but some people call me “nonki”. I'm a front-end developer and interaction designer living in Belgium. I help other people build digital products.
The web offers a lot of possibilities but also demands a specialized approach. I translate designs to production-ready front-end components.
Whether it's designing a new mobile app or refreshing the design of an existing desktop tool, I'm happy to help make your project beautiful and easy to use.
The details of a design are often hard to express through static images. Interactive prototypes can be helpful for both user testing and design implementation.
I'm happy to provide my expertise to your team. An audit of your design architecture or a workshop on modern web technology are just a few of the options.
Refreshed design language for a ticketing software web app. After an initial wireframing and exploration phase I provided Ticketmatic with an interactive prototype and a scalable library of design components.
Front-end implementation for a start-up career platform. In close collaboration with karamel’s design and development team, I transformed their existing app design into a modern HTML prototype.
Multi-platform app design for a sustainable mobility provider. With a focus on incremental usability improvements, I helped Olympus redesign both its mobile ticketing app and its management platform for corporate clients.
Campaign design and development for one of Belgium’s biggest newspapers. For several years I helped the Nieuwsblad marketing team transform campaign ideas into in-app interactive experiences.
Web-based cycling tour guide for a regional newspaper. In collaboration with Gazet van Antwerpen, I designed and developed a cycling tour guide with real-time map directions, interactive puzzles, and location-based content.
Hi, I'm Simon Wuyts, 32 years old, living in and in love with Ghent.
After getting my master's degree in Communication Sciences I decided to become a full-time digital designer and developer. In late 2013, I began working as an Interaction Designer at Yesplan, a Ghent-based software startup.
In 2016 I worked as a freelance digital designer and developer for Mediahuis, one of Belgium's biggest media companies. Later that year I joined Mono Company, a group of digital designers with a shared love of great design and technology. Since 2018 I'm again focused on various smaller freelance projects.
Apart from design and code, I love playing the piano, going for a run, or watching a movie in one of Ghent's beautiful cinemas. I also love coffee, so we should definitely grab one together.
